Tendering and Estimation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tendering & Estimation Engineer (Electrical) with 8–10 years of experience in electrical contracting or consultancy. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing tender documents, coordinating with vendors and clients, and supporting the project team in achieving competitive bids and successful project awards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study and analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates, including materials, labor, and subcontractor components.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations and technical data.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals in line with tender requirements.
• Evaluate RFQs, RFPs, and project scope to ensure compliance with client specifications.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Support management during technical and commercial negotiations.
• Maintain a database of vendor rates, material costs, and project benchmarks.
• Prepare pre-bid queries, clarifications, and attend pre-bid meetings if required.
• Work closely with project, design, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between estimation and execution.
• Track and update market rates and analyze cost trends for better forecasting.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (HT/LT, power distribution, lighting, panels, cabling, earthing, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software.
• Understanding of project BOQ, tendering procedures, and costing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Electrical Contracting / EPC / MEP firms handling industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to government tenders or large private projects will be an added advantage.

Working Days: 6 Days (Alternate Saturdays Off)
