Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute manual, backend, and API tests.
• Perform manual testing of software functionality.
• Identify, report, and track bugs; collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Automate API tests using tools such as Postman.
• Participate in daily standups and cross-functional team meetings.
• Document test cases and results.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and quality standards.
• Use Splunk for test insights and reporting.
• Perform smoke testing and sanity checks.
• Apply continuous testing concepts and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manual, backend, and API testing.
• Proficiency with testing tools (e.g., Postman, cURL).
• Knowledge of network protocols, secure remote connections, file transfer, and command execution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Creative use of test techniques to uncover new bugs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI).
• Understanding of SDLC and QA roles.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, queuing software, FTP, and client-server architecture.
• Knowledge of black-box testing techniques and basic testing levels (unit, integration, system, end-to-end, acceptance).
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, networking, and modern application development.
• Agile testing techniques (manual exploratory, pair, session-based, risk-based testing).

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB certification (Foundation Level + Agile Tester or Test Analyst/Technical Test Analyst preferred).
• Experience with ServiceNow testing.
• Proficiency with JIRA for project and test management.
• Experience in test automation (Robot Framework, Selenium).
• Familiarity with test management tools (JIRA preferred).
• Web-based testing skills (browser developer tools, cross-browser testing).
• Familiarity with Safe methodology is a plus.
