Testing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Testing Engineer with 3 years of experience in the transformer manufacturing industry to perform routine, type, and special tests on power and distribution transformers. The candidate will ensure compliance with applicable standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transformer testing
• Strong knowledge of:
• Power & distribution transformers
• Transformer testing equipment
• Electrical safety standards
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IS, IEEE)
• Ability to analyze test results and identify defects
• Good documentation and reporting skill

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine, type, and special tests on power and distribution transformers
• Perform electrical tests such as:
• Ratio test
• Winding resistance test
• Insulation resistance (IR) & PI test
• No-load and load loss tests
• Short-circuit impedance test
• Vector group verification
• High voltage (HV) tests (AC / DC / Induced)
• Carry out oil testing including BDV, moisture content, and DGA (as applicable)
• Ensure testing as per IEC / IS / IEEE / ANSI standards
• Prepare and review test reports and documentation
• Coordinate with production, quality, and inspection teams
• Attend customer inspections and third-party audits
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during testing
• Troubleshoot test failures and support corrective actions
• Maintain calibration status of test instruments
