Now Hiring: Part-Time Performing Arts (Music, Dance, & Theatre) Teacher – New Port Richey, Florida

We are currently seeking a part-time team of PA staff to provide Theatre classes for our new Building Kidz location in New Port Richey, Florida. For this position that theatre teacher would be required to come in once a week to teach theatre to different groups of children from the ages of 3 to 5 years old.

This is a part-time position for a passionate and creative Performing Arts teacher. The ideal candidate will have their own transportation, be available for shifts from 9:00am–12:00pm and/or 2:00pm–5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Building Kidz Schools are expanding and transforming the way performing arts are integrated into early childhood education. Our vision is to empower children to become strong and confident individuals through the performing arts.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Very comfortable being dramatic, silly, and quick-thinking
  • Experienced or comfortable working with preschool aged children
  • Willing to be trained in our proprietary performing arts curriculum
  • Energetic, flexible, and passionate about sharing the joy of music, dance, and theatre

Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or working with young children
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Performing arts classes to groups of children aged 3 to 5 years old.
  • Individual classes range from 15-30 minutes.
  • 2-3 Hours of Work a Week, scheduled in one shift.
  • Flexibly adapt provided curriculum to our different age groups.
  • Ability to promote a feeling of security and trust in children by being warm, supportive, and comforting.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with other performing arts staff to plan two imaginative show productions a year, including but not limited to music, dance, theater, set design, and costume design.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Performing Arts Director.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
