Job Summary and Qualifications

Throughput Supervisor Responsibilities

Throughout day –

• Review EDMV, Teletracking
• Monitor and moderate Surge Webex
• Review DC movement with orders with parameters and home confirmed DCs
• Communicates and escalates gaps to appropriate parties within the multidisciplinary team (i.e., doctors, nurses, CM, ancillary)
• Monitor CNC and transport daily group chat for throughput issue resolution
• Help facilitate downgrade movement or overflow to reduce ED holds
• Assist with transport surges and tirage patient movement
• Help push patients to CDU (initially until CDU workflow is hardwired)

Weekly

• Report out at Throughput committee

Monthly

• DCL and transport schedules
• Employee Rounding (DCL and transport)

As needed

• Surge Champion – leads and debriefs code surge response and activation
• Round on sitters for de-escalation and assessment of LOS concerns, DC barriers

What qualifications you will need:

Education: Graduate from professional nursing program. Bachelors degree in health care related field preferred.

Licensure/ Certifications: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. BLS & ACLS required upon hire

Experience: 3-5 years of nursing experience in a hospital environment. 1 year as a charge nurse or other management position preferred.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients.
