Summary: Based in Andover, MA, the Welder will perform essential job functions associated with welding metal parts together as specified using a TIG welder.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
This very active position will fabricate, join, and/or repair customer products, capsules, equipment, fixtures, and various types of metal objects and structures using TIG welding techniques. In addition, you will:
- Set up and operate the TIG welder according to specifications.
- Equipment set-up, including loading/unloading parts.
- Monitor the welding process and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
- Make adjustments to equipment to ensure quality parts are produced.
- Complete production and labor reports.
- Complete preventative maintenance procedures.
- Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, rollers, hydraulic shears, air tools, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
- Be responsible for all equipment and supplies associated with the weld and machine shops.
- Maintain daily communication with management to review the priorities set forth within the department.
- Promote good housekeeping practices; follow all safety programs set in place.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Follow the established work procedures and control measures (including the use of PPE where issued) and any applicable SHE rules.
- The ability to operate all in-house welding equipment.
- Maintain records and document the process inspection data as required.
- Work with a variety of materials, including steel, copper, aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and other precious metals.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Bring any irregularity to the Lead-person for management.
- Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Experience: Minimum 3 plus years of TIG welding hands-on experience required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized knowledge: Operation of drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, rollers, hydraulic shears, air tools, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
- Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers, comprehend rules and procedures, and accept constructive feedback.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must be able to work first shift - M-F (7A– 3P).
Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
