TIG Welder/Fabricator - 5 Years Min Experience

Custom Metal Fabricators, Inc. seeks an experienced and skilled TIG welder / fabricator to complete close tolerance sheet metal weldments and assemblies.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished TIG welder and have prior experience working within a fabrication environment with knowledge of shears, press brakes, drill presses and other miscellaneous metal working equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions by applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
• Develop templates, fixtures and other work aids to hold and align parts
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (both US and European formats)
• Minimum of 5 years TIG welding experience required
• Minimum of 5 years experience welding close tolerance sheet metal parts and assemblies made from Aluminum, Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel
• Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for welding, including fluxes and filler metals
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship or vocational school program preferred but not necessary
• Professional certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) preferred but not necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
