This is a remote position with a work schedule of Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

SUMMARY:
Serves as a resource to agents and staff on Connecticut title and real estate issues by responding to phone calls and written inquiries, as well as, writing articles and presenting educational seminars.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Provides knowledgeable, courteous and prompt responses to underwriting calls from agents; makes sound business decisions that facilitate the issuance of title insurance policies while appropriately managing the risk of loss to the company.
  • Assists title searchers in resolving title issues related to the preparation of title searches.
  • Advises staff regarding endorsements and policies prepared in-house for agents.
  • Review condominium documents.
  • Meet with agents to resolve underwriting questions.
  • Visits, in coordination with Agent Services, to encourage the use of CATIC services.
  • Writes Practice Notes and articles on real estate issues.
  • Participates in educational seminars and professional organization activities.
  • Compliance and adherence at all times with the organization’s Code of Ethics and Conduct as well as all of our company policies.
  • Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduation from an accredited law school and license to practice law in Connecticut.
  • Three years of legal experience with an emphasis on Connecticut real estate.
  • Experience in bankruptcy, estate settlement and litigation matters preferred.
