Toddler Assistant Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a peaceful and safe learning environment for children aged 16 months to 3 years. This role involves assisting in the implementation of Montessori principles and practices, toileting, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily activities and lessons that adhere to Montessori philosophy.
  • Support children in their individual learning journeys, fostering independence and self-confidence.
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Support children in their transition from stand up diapering to using the toilet independently (toileting)
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a strong community.
  • Help manage classroom behavior through positive discipline.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

STARS – 30 hour completion certificate / exemption letter

CPR / 1 Aid – infant / child specific

HIV / Blood borne Pathogens Training

Food Handler’s Certification

Negative TB test

Ability to clear the state background check

Measles Vaccination or Proof of Immunity

Minimum Performance Standards:

Must be able to:

  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Move from floor to standing on a repeated basis
  • Attend events which serve the families enrolled within the classroom to which you are assigned

Pay: $21.30 - $25.00 per hour
