Job Title: Toddler Teacher

Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, patient, and engaging Toddler Teacher to support the growth and development of children ages 24–36 months. The ideal candidate will create a safe, stimulating, and responsive learning environment rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach, where children are viewed as capable, curious learners. This role includes supporting children’s social-emotional development, fostering independence, and meeting essential caregiving needs such as diapering and potty training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, responsive care to toddlers, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being at all times
  • Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, toileting, and transitions with respect and consistency
  • Implement and support individualized potty training plans in partnership with families
  • Design and facilitate play-based, child-led learning experiences inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • Observe and document children’s development, interests, and emerging skills to inform curriculum planning
  • Create a rich classroom environment with open-ended materials that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration
  • Foster strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues through clear, respectful communication
  • Encourage independence, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth in toddlers
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom and adhere to all licensing and health regulations

Reggio Emilia Approach Responsibilities:

  • View children as capable, competent learners and co-construct knowledge alongside them
  • Use observation and documentation as tools to guide curriculum and communicate learning
  • Provide opportunities for project-based exploration driven by children’s interests
  • Create an aesthetically pleasing and engaging environment that acts as the “third teacher”
  • Collaborate with colleagues to reflect on teaching practices and children’s experiences

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
  • Knowledge of child development, especially ages 1–3
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Reggio Emilia approach
  • Ability to safely and respectfully perform diapering and support potty training
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor
  • Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors

Pay: $32,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
