We are looking for a dedicated, experienced early childhood professional eager to work with older toddlers aged 18-36 months.

The Learning Center of Palo Alto is a small, nonprofit, play-based early childhood program nestled in a beautiful Palo Alto neighborhood. We are a place where children and teachers develop a love of learning through thoughtful play and exploration in a respectful and compassionate environment. The center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

We are looking for individuals to provide a warm, nurturing, play-based, and child-centered program. Our program focuses on an emergent curriculum, fosters a connection to nature, and provides a flexible rhythm that allows children to freely flow from the indoor classroom to the outdoor classroom throughout the day. You will conduct child observations, support the learning and interests of children, create documentation of children’s work, and develop an age-appropriate emergent curriculum.

Candidates will have:

• A minimum of an AA in Early Childhood Education
• A BA/MA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred
• A minimum of three years of experience working directly with children aged 18 months to 3 years old.
• A passion for education and learning with young children
• The ability to develop partnerships with families
• Understanding of positive, supportive guidance and discipline methods
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to physically stand, sit, lift, and move around easily in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Enthusiasm for collaboration and life-long learning

Salary commensurate with educational background and experience. The substantial benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision, 26 paid holidays/vacation days, plus additional PTO, sick pay, and Professional Development days.
