POSITION SUMMARY

The Trade Compliance Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company adheres to all trade regulations and compliance standards, while optimizing duty savings and maintaining accurate records. This position will utilize strong expertise in Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) qualification to effectively analyze and execute all relevant trade compliance activities.


CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Accurately classify products under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Maintain a global parts database.
  • Perform regular reviews of HTS classifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze and verify product eligibility under the USMCA.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for USMCA certification and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper understanding and implementation of USMCA rules of origin.
  • Conduct post-entry audits to verify compliance of import transactions, ensuring accurate declarations and identifying discrepancies.
  • Respond to broker requests and support with review of performance against KPIs.
  • Assist the Senior Customs and Trade Compliance Manager in implementing best practices to drive productivity and streamline opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all trade compliance activities and documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally with global and regional teams to carry out trade compliance goals and assignments.
  • Provide support related to country-of-origin determination.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or Logistics required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in trade compliance and customs.
  • Experience with USMCA and knowledge of rules of origin and qualification requirements.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification and General Rules of Interpretation (GRI).
  • Thorough understanding of import/exports regulations and compliance standards.
  • Working knowledge of duty drawback and best practices to maintain a program.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled in US Customs Trade program management and Harmonized Tariff Classification for Automotive.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various types of software / ERP information systems.
  • Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Working knowledge of US Customs ACE portal.
  • Knowledge of organizational supply chain and systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to sedentary work; Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Visual Acuity

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
