We are looking for Trade Transportation Specialist who is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods in domestic and international trade. The role focuses on ensuring timely, efficient, and compliant transportation of products through various modes such as air, sea, road, and rail. This position supports global supply chain operations and helps businesses optimize shipping costs, transit times, and trade compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation Coordination
- Arrange and monitor shipments across multiple transportation modes (air, sea, road, rail).
- Plan optimal routes to reduce transit time and cost.
- Coordinate pickup, loading, transport, and final delivery.
Trade Compliance & Documentation
- Prepare, review, and manage trade documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs rules, and international trade standards (including Incoterms).
- Liaise with customs brokers and regulatory agencies.
Carrier & Vendor Management
- Communicate and negotiate with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and 3PL providers.
- Maintain strong relationships with transport and logistics partners.
- Evaluate carrier performance and resolve service issues.
Shipment Tracking & Problem Resolution
- Monitor shipments from origin to destination using tracking systems.
- Respond to delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders and ensure corrective actions.
Customer & Internal Support
- Provide information to clients or internal teams regarding shipment status, costs, transit times, and requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, and sales to support supply chain needs.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Prepare shipping quotations and calculate transportation charges.
- Review freight bills, ensure accurate billing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate reports on shipment performance, costs, and KPIs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of logistics, supply chain, and international trade processes.
- Knowledge of global transportation modes and trade compliance (customs, duties, Incoterms).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in logistics software and shipment tracking tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in transportation, logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or trade operations.
