Trainee Engineer - UAEN

Job Purpose

The Trainee Engineer - Mechanical for MEP will support senior engineers in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems for construction projects. The role involves assisting in the preparation of mechanical designs, conducting calculations, reviewing plans, and ensuring all mechanical work adheres to project specifications, codes, and safety standards. This position provides an opportunity to develop practical experience in mechanical engineering, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the supervision of mechanical system installations on-site to ensure compliance with approved designs and safety standards.
• Assist in monitoring the installation of HVAC units, piping, ducting, pumps, and valves, ensuring they follow project specifications.
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
• Support in troubleshooting and resolving issues during commissioning, ensuring systems are fully operational.
• Assist in the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and punch lists for mechanical systems.
• Assist in enforcing safety measures during mechanical installations and testing procedures.
• Work closely with senior engineers and other disciplines (electrical, civil, etc.) to integrate mechanical systems into overall building designs.
• Learn and develop technical skills in mechanical engineering through hands-on experience and continuous mentoring from senior engineers.
• Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and problem-solving sessions.
