Job Description:

The Carpenter Trainer will be responsible for imparting practical and theoretical training in carpentry under various skill development programs. The role involves preparing trainees with industry-relevant knowledge, hands-on skills, and safety practices to ensure their employability in the carpentry and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver training sessions (theory & practical) as per prescribed curriculum, guidelines, and standards.
• Demonstrate carpentry techniques such as measuring, cutting, joining, assembling, and finishing wooden structures.
• Train students in the use of carpentry tools, machines, and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Assess trainee progress through assignments, practical tasks, and evaluations.
• Maintain training records, attendance, and performance reports.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and motivation to trainees for skill enhancement.
• Ensure proper upkeep of training workshop, tools, and training materials.
• Support in mobilization, counseling, and placement activities for trainees.

Qualifications:

Educational Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma / NSQF Level Certification in Carpentry or related trade.
• Higher qualification in Vocational Training/Teaching will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 2–5 years of industry experience in carpentry, woodworking, or furniture making.
• Prior experience as a trainer in skill development programs preferred.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Patience, mentoring ability, and passion for skill development.
• Awareness of workplace safety, quality standards, and industry best practices.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to travel within project locations if required.
• Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
