Right now, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Training and Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in shaping and growing our internal training programs—helping employees thrive, stay compliant, and feel empowered in their roles. Responsibilities:



1. Assess, improve, create, and execute training programs in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Credit Union and brand. This includes, but is not limited to, new hire training, system training, products and services, member service and sales, supervisor, risk management, fraud topics, and required compliance. Training may be in group settings, one-on-one, or via the Web. Additional training, support, and mentoring will be required in branch, contact center, or other departments.



2. In collaboration with the Human Resources team, coordinates and conducts new hire training including First Capital Federal Credit Union’s You First Core Values, system training, products and services, branch tours, and required compliance.



3. Manages the Credit Union’s web-based training platform and updates it as necessary to ensure employees are meeting performance and learning goals.



4. Manages and champions the First Cap Friend program to promote a welcoming environment and to build positive relationships within the workplace.



5. Maintain the Credit Union’s training intranet page and knowledge base to assist employees in their product knowledge, performance, and overall employee engagement.



6. Work with all departments to ensure intranet procedures are updated and old procedures removed.



7. Supports all department managers and other subject matter experts in developing training materials, employee development, and training opportunities. Demonstrates the ability to lead and develop employees.



8. Tracks the progress of trainees through class evaluations, routine tests, observation, and feedback from supervisors. Evaluates the effectiveness of the current training, adjusting as necessary to program content.



9. Manages assigned training programs and projects ensuring content is accurate, relevant, and current. Creates and keeps materials and handouts updated as needed for class participants. May include written documents and training videos.



10. Maintains required training records for employees.



11. Participates in learning new systems and processes and/or staying up to date on changes occurring within current systems/processes.



12. Collaborate with various departments/Sr. Managers/Branch Managers/Subject Matter Experts when necessary to assist in the development and update of procedures and processes.



13. Supports the Human Resources Department in developing new hire onboarding training schedules.



14. Must be an excellent presenter and be able to hold the interest of and engage participants while in group settings, one-on-one or online training sessions.



15. Exhibits and reinforces the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and You F!rst culture at all training events.



16. Attend ongoing training and training certifications to ensure the most up to date training materials and teaching technics are being utilized.



17. Demonstrates ability to filter out the key learning points and create training program curriculum from meetings with department managers or others.



18. Effectively communicates and works in collaboration with Department Managers/Supervisors to create and recommend additional training for employees who are experiencing job performance challenges.



19. Provides informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and employees. Is a role model of the Credit Union’s You F!rst Core Values.



20. Lead or assist with various projects that require employee training within the Credit Union.



21. Maintain an effective working relationship with management, peers, and other team members.



22. Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the Credit Union and of all sensitive information.



23. Participates in community related activities and community service initiatives to promote the Credit Union and employee engagement.



24. Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:

. 1. Two to five years’ experience in workplace training or adult learning environments. Prior experience with Training or Operations in credit unions or banking environment preferred.

2. High School Diploma or GED required. College degree in Business, Education, Communications, or related field preferred.

3. Work involves extensive personal contact with others usually of a personal or sensitive nature, so confidentiality is necessary to respect and trust. Strong people skills and the ability to train, inspire, motivate, and influence others. Maintain a professional image of the Credit Union in dealing with members and team members while displaying passion and optimism.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop rapport and trust. Must demonstrate professionalism and strong presentation skills.

5. Proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must also be able to navigate online training programs, tools, and software for adult learners.

6. Good judgement and decision-making ability in order to self-direct in managing day to day tasks and projects and meet deadlines.

7. Requires flexibility, developed problem-solving skills, confidentiality, and the ability to focus on details.

8. Must be bondable.



Working Conditions:

  • Works in a well-lighted and ventilated professional setting. Minimal noise presented with office equipment and foot traffic.
  • May involve extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking. Involves bending, squatting, and reaching. Finger dexterity while using computer. Continuous talking and hearing in person and/or on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision. Some lifting required (up to 30 lbs.)
