About the role

We are seeking a proactive Training & Development Specialist based in Doha to design, deliver, and evaluate learning programs that improve employee performance, capability, and engagement across the organisation. The role requires strong instructional design skills, facilitation experience, and the ability to align learning initiatives with business objectives and Qatari workplace practices.

Key responsibilities

Learning strategy: Collaborate with HR and business leaders to assess capability gaps and develop a learning strategy and annual training plan aligned to organisational goals.

Needs analysis: Conduct training needs assessments using surveys, interviews, performance data, and competency frameworks.

  • Instructional design: Design blended learning solutions (classroom, virtual, e-learning, on-the-job) using sound adult-learning principles and modern methodologies (microlearning, scenario-based learning, blended curricula).
  • Content development: Create engaging training materials, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, assessments, and e-learning modules; source and customise external content when required.
  • Facilitation & delivery: Deliver workshops, onboarding, leadership development, soft-skills, and technical training sessions for employees at all levels; engage external trainers and manage vendor relationships.
  • Learning technology: Administer and optimise the LMS; track enrolments, completions, and learning metrics; recommend digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Evaluation & ROI: Design evaluation frameworks (Kirkpatrick levels or similar), measure learning impact, analyse training effectiveness, and report on KPIs and ROI.
  • Career & succession support: Support talent development initiatives, competency mapping, career-pathing, and succession planning activities.
  • Compliance & localisation: Ensure training complies with local regulations, cultural norms, and company policies; localise content for relevance in Qatar.
  • Budget & vendor management: Manage training budgets, procure external providers, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Continuous improvement: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of L&D best practices and industry trends; pilot new approaches and scale successful programs.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in training and development, learning design, or HR L&D functions; experience in Doha/Qatar or GCC markets preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering blended learning solutions and facilitation for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, Moodle, SAP SuccessFactors) and authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate) preferred.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills; experience with learning metrics and ROI analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Experience managing external vendors and training budgets.
  • Valid work authorization for Qatar.
