Overview

Introduction. Amazon is seeking bright, motivated and hardworking individuals to fill Sort Center Learning Manager position at our SC (Sort center). The ideal candidate possesses strong work ethics, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to customer service related to product fulfillment. This position may require using radio frequency scanners, moving shipments to the correct location, unloading/loading a truck, sortation, and handling exceptions when they occur. SC Trainers are expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to safety, quality and production standards, and be willing to work in multiple shifts. The role may require flexibility to perform in various capacities within the sort center, including loading or unloading materials or sortation. The job is demanding, with opportunities for learning and growth as we aim to provide the best services to our customers at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Employee Development: Help and assist the Learning Manager to foster development and growth of employees; assist the LM to create and implement training plans for managers, trainers and others; create/update accurate information on-the-job tasks, SOPs, training aids/visuals/OPLs.
  • Identify production and scheduling conflicts and report swiftly to LM; manage the learning department to ensure new and existing SC associates, specialists and managers are trained and developed; identify potential ambassadors/trainers and groom them for Sort Center process training.
  • Leadership: Lead teams of associates, ambassadors and Trainers; develop and manage cross-functional teams to meet operational needs; track metrics and report gaps to LM; collaborate with Stakeholders and site operation team to attain site performance goals.
  • Administrative: Update, track and record training progress and skill sets; create and manage training content and documentation; gather and track training metrics; track and communicate assignments and progress; conduct training and compliance audits on associates.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Regular standing/walking; lifting, bending, reaching; push/pull heavy objects; operate around moving parts; variable noise levels; willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays; overtime as required; ability to read, write and take direction.
Requirements & Expectations
  • Best Behavior: Listen to associates, support managers, lead by example, be approachable, stay up-to-date with techniques, tools and processes, be honest, willing to accept mistakes, and take on more responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, provide and receive feedback, and use visual aids to drive understanding.
  • Proficiency with computers for developing materials, presentations and email communication.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety; experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); ability to develop and manage training materials and documentation.
  • Graduate with 3-4 years of experience in Facilitation, Content Development, Instructional Design, and end-to-end training processes; certification in Training and Development (preferred); experience managing a learning team is a plus.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking in front of groups and one-on-one.
  • Ability to drive understanding, recognize when participants are lost and need more attention.
  • Experience using computers to develop materials and communicate via email; strong written and oral communication with good email etiquette.
  • Strong leadership, positive work attitude, and a commitment to safety.
  • Preference for candidates with up-to-date knowledge of computers, networking, internet, and Microsoft Office; relevant degree or equivalent experience.
