ABOUT THE ROLE

The Training Specialist reports to the Training Program Manager and does not have any direct reports. Working within the Training and Operations Services Team, they will help bring honeygrow’s mission to life through creating and maintaining engaging training content that facilitates the development of Elite restaurants. This role is focused on instructional design—building high-quality, learner-centered resources that enhance the employee experience and strengthen operational excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, creative, and passionate about creating best-in-class training experiences in a fast-paced, growing organization.

KEY BEHAVIORS

  • Support successful adoption of new tools, systems, or SOPs through thoughtful training strategy and clear communication.
  • Ability to assess learning needs with strong grasp of adult learning principles and performance-based training design.
  • Competency with LMS platforms, e-learning tools (Articulate, Canva, etc.), authoring and design programs, and instructional technologies.
  • Team player with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude, willing to pitch in for the greater good of the company.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with stakeholders at all levels (in writing, verbally, and in group public speaking settings).
    • Collaborate with District Managers and Regional Managers.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with other RSC teams (HR/Recruiting, Accounting, Technology, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc.).
    • Provide feedback to Ops Services to improve processes.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and composure when presented with challenges or ambiguity.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Training Program Manager to develop new training materials and improve existing materials to support operational and business goals.
  • Leverage adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (such as ADDIE) to produce effective learning solutions across multiple formats, such as e-learning courses, videos, printed materials, help/how-to articles, and job aids.
  • Maintain honeygrow’s Learning Management System (LMS), including but not limited to: user management, uploading and organizing content, and reporting.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos to be used in training materials, ensuring authenticity and alignment with operational standards.
  • Collaborate with restaurant operators and cross-functional partners to ensure training content is accurate, practical, clear, consistent, and aligned with honeygrow standards.
  • Serve as a training SME in cross-functional initiatives (Ops, Culinary, HR, Tech).
  • Conduct in-person and webinar group training, when directed by the Training Program Manager.
    • Facilitate small- and large-group training on any/all aspects of restaurant operations.
    • Support the planning and scheduling of these trainings.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Training Program Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of instructional design or training content development experience, or a degree in Instructional/Learning Design.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Basic photography and video production/editing skills to capture training content in restaurants.
  • Experience with LMS platforms preferred.
  • Experience in Restaurant Operations Training is preferred.
  • Proficiency with instructional design software such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere), or similar tools strongly preferred
  • Spanish language fluency (spoken and written) strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5-10% as needed.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Philadelphia Restaurant Support Center 4 days per week.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Internal Candidates: must have recommendations from/endorsement by District Manager and Regional Director.

Please note that this is not a remote position. honeygrow’s Restaurant Support Center (HQ) is located in Philadelphia, PA.

Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually
