Job Duties

This position directs and supervises the development and delivery of training for the e-Learning Training Unit. This position provides oversight for mandated and specialized training directed towards agency personnel. This position ethically leads the e-Learning Training Unit team, providing guidance and coaching to enhance training delivery to target audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of instructional design theory and applications; demonstrated competence in the use of at least one course management system and various multimedia technologies; working knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, and authoring software such as Articulate or Captivate; proficiency with presentation and web-centric software. General knowledge of current and developing trends in distance education and instructional technologies. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage distance education courses and coordinate instructional activities between various groups, individuals, and classroom sites. Demonstrated ability to conduct training, provide technical support, and resolve problems in the use of course management software and other design/delivery technologies for trainers and adjunct faculty. Knowledge of current trends in assessment and evaluation of the training process as it applies to distance learning. Competence in project conception, design, planning, implementation, and in managing multiple-task projects. Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office products. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic environment.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge or coursework in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Education, or Communication/Media. DCJS General Instructor Certification. Specialized training/certification in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Multimedia Technology, and Learning Management System platforms (e.g., Cornerstone Meridian) preferred. Criminal justice experience. Extensive experience developing, managing, and facilitating employee training courses. Combination of education, specialized training/certification, and employment may substitute for formal education.
