We’re hiring for a full-time Medical Transcriptionist to join our Medical Center at 41 Montebello.
You will support high-volume providers (20-35 patients/day) by accurately preparing and editing a variety of medical documents and clinical encounters from provider dictations and voice recordings while ensuring complete, timely and compliant documentation using correct medical terminology. You will work closely with physicians to verify information, correct errors, and finalize reports. You will also maintain confidential medical records and support the office with general clerical tasks and other assigned duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Medical Transcriptionist under the supervision of the Director and Supervisor you will:
Transcribe provider dictations and visit notes accurately and structurally ensure they align with PCMH workflows
Enter structured data, including vital signs, screenings and quality metrics into NextGen fields.
Navigate NextGen’s document management system for scanning, attaching and indexing records.
Produce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information.
Identify and flag missing documentation elements.
Review and edit transcribed reports and dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology.
Ensure correct linking of diagnoses to orders, reconcile orders, utilize tasks and respond to patient needs on the patient portal within NextGen.
Communicate frequently with physicians to ask questions, verify statistics, sign documents
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/E/M, and HCPCS codes
Support population health documentation.
Maintain same-day transcription for 90% of encounters; next-business-day for complex notes.
Uphold HIPAA and organizational privacy/security policies at all times.
Perform clerical work in a medical setting to include documentation of referrals and transitions of care.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical requirements include the following:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
Tools and systems: NextGen EHR, NextGen mobile, dictation software, Smart phrases, Computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and a printer.
Occasionally lift and carry items up to 15 pounds
Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids

What we’re looking For—The Must-Haves
High school/general equivalency diploma
In-depth knowledge of medical terms and medical language to correct errors in transcripts
Proficiency in Windows-based computer programs and electronic charts, as well as transcription software
Skilled with various office equipment
Communication skills to effectively communicate with health care personnel and patients about patient information and work assignments
Customer service mindset: calm under pressure: excellent attention to detail: ability to manage high volume
Current Colorado Driver License and access to transportation during work hours
