JOB REQUIREMENTS

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

• CDL or Streetcar Certification: 100% of all required operator trainees attaining within policy timelines.

• Training completion rate: 100% for required new hire and recertification courses.

• Training records and documentation: 98% accuracy rate.

• Training and records reports submitted on time: 100%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• License: Valid Oklahoma Class B CDL with Passenger (P) endorsement .

• Streetcar Operator certification

• Minimum three (3) years previous transit operation experience, and two (2) years in a supervisory role.

• Skill in applying and assessing effective instructional techniques, adult learning principles, and instructional design.

• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to relate training information to diverse audiences; tact and diplomacy.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience facilitating in‑person and virtual training sessions; experience with LMS/HRIS systems preferred.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Public Administration, Education, or closely related field from an accredited college or university.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Subject to sitting, standing, walking, and using a telephone or two-way radio for extended periods.
• Local travel required to monitor operations.
• Frequent work outside normal hours; occasional weekends and holidays.
• Work involves being around moving vehicles and exposure to dust, fumes, gases, noise, and extremes in temperature/humidity.
• Inside and outside regularly; exposed to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and possible falls from slippery surfaces.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Vision sufficient to read and draft written and computer-generated communications.
• Speech and hearing sufficient to communicate in person, by telephone, and by two-way radio.
• Manual and finger dexterity to operate office equipment such as keyboards, telephones, etc.
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces up to one-half mile.
• Maintain balance for extended periods while vehicles are in motion.
• Adapt to various temperature extremes, including heat, cold, moisture, and wind.
• Regularly sit and stand for extended periods; push/pull up to 25 pounds.
• Ascend and descend platforms up to 18 inches from the floor.
• Tolerate repetitive movements: bending and overhead reaching.
• Pass color/vision examinations as required.
• Hear and distinguish auditory signals as required.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment.

PRE‑EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• DOT Physical & Drug Screen: The successful applicant must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, which includes a drug screen.
• Background Check: EMBARK will conduct a background investigation/verification. Applicants will be provided contact information for any third‑party reporting agencies used to collect background information as part of a conditional offer of employment.
• Substance Abuse Policy: Applicants will receive a copy of EMBARK’s Substance Abuse Policy upon conditional offer and acceptance, and before any health screen/physical examination and drug test.

DRIVING RECORD STANDARD

• Positions that require operating a COTPA vehicle may be disqualified by three (3) or more moving traffic violation convictions (excluding parking tickets) within the last two (2) years.
