- Logistics Planning & Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transportation activities for company vehicles or external carriers.
- Optimize routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective transport operations.
- Monitor vehicle movements to ensure on-time arrivals and departures.
- Fleet Management
- Maintain records of vehicle usage, maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver assignments.
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and properly serviced according to schedule.
- Coordinate with workshops for repairs and maintenance.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain transport-related documents such as delivery notes, trip sheets, and vehicle logs.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Verify driver licenses, vehicle registrations, and insurance documents are up to date.
- Driver Supervision
- Assign and brief drivers on routes, schedules, and delivery instructions.
- Monitor driver performance and adherence to safety and traffic rules.
- Provide training or guidance to drivers as needed.
- Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding transport needs and delivery schedules.
- Communicate delays or issues promptly and provide solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Serve as the main contact for transport-related inquiries and issues.
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Track transport costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses.
- Prepare reports on vehicle usage, transport efficiency, and delivery performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting of transport operations.
- Safety & Risk Management
- Implement and enforce transport safety protocols.
- Investigate and report transport incidents or accidents.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety standards.
