Responsibilities:

• Safely operate facility vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in accordance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Transport residents to medical appointments, therapy services, dialysis, hospital transfers, and community activities as scheduled.
• Assist residents entering and exiting vehicles, including wheelchair securement and use of lifts when applicable.
• Ensure proper use of seat belts, wheelchair restraints, and safety equipment.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs, trip sheets, mileage records, and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident status, schedules, and delays.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of transport vehicles.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, and resident confidentiality policies.
• Provide courteous and professional interaction with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations and follow facility procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Clean driving record meeting facility insurance requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous healthcare or patient transport experience preferred.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices safely.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Compensation:

• Rate will be commensurate with experience.
