Transport Supervisor – Duties and Responsibilities
- Vehicle Management
- Supervise and manage all company vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and safe for operation.
- Keep records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Driver Supervision
- Assign drivers to daily transport duties.
- Monitor driver performance, punctuality, and discipline.
- Ensure drivers follow company policies and traffic regulations.
- Transport Scheduling
- Plan and coordinate daily transportation schedules.
- Arrange transport for staff, materials, and equipment as required.
- Optimize routes to reduce fuel costs and travel time.
- Documentation & Records
- Maintain vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and driver attendance.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid registration, insurance, and permits.
- Prepare transport reports for management.
- Safety Compliance
- Ensure all drivers follow road safety rules and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety briefings and training for drivers when necessary.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.
- Fuel and Cost Control
- Monitor fuel consumption and control transport-related expenses.
- Identify ways to reduce operational costs.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with other departments for transportation needs.
- Communicate with suppliers, garages, and service providers for vehicle maintenance.
- Emergency Handling
- Arrange replacement vehicles or drivers in case of breakdowns or emergencies.
- Handle transport-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Compliance with UAE Regulations
- Ensure drivers have valid driving licenses.
- Ensure vehicles comply with UAE traffic laws and transport authority regulations.
