Position Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Transportation Dispatcher to oversee the daily scheduling of our truck fleet (including roll-off, straight trucks and tractor-trailers). You’ll work closely with drivers, customers, and our operations team to coordinate efficient and timely pickups and deliveries across the region.

Key Responsibilities

· Schedule and dispatch trucks for material pickups and deliveries.

· Communicate with drivers, customers, and operations supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

· Adjust schedules in real time based on customer needs.

· Maintain route logs, driver assignments, and scale ticket records.

· Track roll-off container and trailer locations and availability.

· Coordinate vehicle maintenance scheduling.

· Assist with DOT compliance tracking and basic reporting.

· Assist with general office activities including answering phones and collecting payments from our customers.

What You Bring

· 2+ years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or transportation coordination (recycling or scrap experience a plus).

· Familiarity with DOT regulations and routing principles.

· Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, and dispatch software (we use ScrapRight).

· Strong communication and multitasking skills.

· Calm under pressure and quick-thinking in dynamic situations.
