Transportation Driver MUST HAVE CNA LICENSE

Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation is looking to find an outstanding transportation services driver to join our team of healthcare professionals! This role is vital to our residents' wellbeing, health and safety. The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting residents to and from appointments in the community using the facility's branded van. Individual must be comfortable working with the elderly and disabled, have a positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate must also be punctual and professional.

Duties include:

• Transport patients by assisting patients in and out of vans/vehicles; lifting patients on and off beds; moving them to and from special service and treatment areas, using wheelchairs or moveable beds.

• Communicate with outside entities with excellent customer service.

• Comfort patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.

• Transport equipment and supplies by picking-up requisitioned orders; delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.

• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations.

• Handle sensitive patient information with proper respect of HIPAA.

• Ensure all resident have a safe transportation experience.

• Engage in training upon hire and ongoing to ensure up-to-date knowledge of current safety practices.

Job Requirements:

Current valid drivers license with no serious infractions.

Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.

Certified Nursing Assistant certification strongly preferred. Experience in customer service, transportation and healthcare preferred. Training will be offered on-site regardless of level of experience.
