Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Transportation Manager to oversee and manage transportation operations in Guwahati and the North-East region. The role involves ensuring efficient fleet management, route optimization, cost control, vendor coordination, and timely delivery performance while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong operational expertise in logistics, fleet operations, and regional transportation management.

Key Responsibilities1. Transportation & Fleet Management

• Manage daily transportation operations including inbound and outbound shipments.
• Oversee fleet utilization, route planning, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor vehicle performance, maintenance, fuel consumption, and compliance.
• Ensure on-time delivery and minimize transit delays.

2. Vendor & Partner Management

• Manage transport vendors and negotiate freight rates.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local transporters.
• Monitor vendor performance through KPIs (TAT, cost, service quality).

3. Cost Control & Optimization

• Optimize freight cost through route planning and load consolidation.
• Monitor transportation budgets and control operational expenses.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without impacting service levels.

4. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to local transport regulations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain documentation related to permits, insurance, and compliance.
• Implement safety standards and ensure driver compliance.

5. Team Leadership

• Supervise transport coordinators, supervisors, and drivers.
• Provide training and performance monitoring.
• Resolve operational issues and escalations promptly.

6. Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare MIS reports on delivery performance, costs, and fleet utilization.
• Track KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), Cost per Trip, and Vehicle Utilization.
• Provide insights to management for operational improvements.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and transport management systems (TMS).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in transportation / logistics management.
• Experience in managing regional transportation hubs preferred.
• Experience working in 3PL, FMCG, e-commerce, or distribution network preferred.

• Strong coordination skills with warehouse and sales teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
