Key Responsibilities:
Effectively supervises and supports a team/fleet, made up of Fisher DOT and or Non DOT Drivers, warehouse associates and their processes.
Essential Functions:
Daily tasks include the supervision of subordinate drivers and their performance; creating, administering and dispatching driver assignments; ensuring strict compliance with any and all safety standards, policies and regulations; assisting with the maintenance of all vehicles to maintain top working order which includes validating any and all necessary safety equipment is present and being used appropriately;
Oversees databases that detail transport activities and driver performance through GPS, Donlen Fleet Web, Driver Point Telematics, and employee schedules;
Ensures the accuracy of all outbound product before leaving the building by way of verifying audit accuracy; verifies correct paperwork is distributed among the product; confirms all outbound product is ship ready before the arrival of the drivers;
Assists in hiring recommendations, properly train staff and stay up-to-date on current transportation laws and fleet regulations;
Be highly knowledgeable of codes, laws, regulations, and policies to include DOT, OSHA, and EPA along with basic data entry, and electronic file system knowledge;
Maintain the Driver Hours of Service logs, daily pre and post vehicle inspections(DVIR), medical certification exams, driver licensing, and Haz-Mat certification ensuring that all are accurate and up-to-date;
Schedule and coordinate the annual CMV inspections at least once during the preceding 12 months and ensure such inspection is on the correct vehicle and the documentation is maintained in the vehicle, ensuring all is accurate and up-to-date;
Act either solely, or as a part of a supervisory group, as a point of contact on-premises in the absence of an on-shift manager or the General Manager; Ensures the timely reporting of employee injuries, incidents or emergencies involving fleet equipment, powered industrial vehicles that may occur after hours; provides first hand account verbally and in writing on facts surrounding incidents and makes first contact with emergency services and then General Manager
Participate in all safety and accident incidents relative to the fleet and subordinate employees and take necessary corrective actions within policy guidelines;
Coordinate prompt repairs or deficiencies noted by employees and/or DOT inspectors and generate required responses of repair verifications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
High school diploma or GED equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree in transportation and/or logistics management is preferred; · Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date and satisfactory MVR must be maintained;
Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test;
2 – 3 years of prior relevant experience with a proven track record in transportation/logistic scheduling and management is required;

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stoop
Also required to climb, balance, crouch or crawl, squat, talk, speak, and hear
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and/or vehicles, high/precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, various degrees of cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, items of bulky or varying weight, risk of explosion, and/or vibration. Noise level may be moderate to heavy
Must have considerable mobility, and able to stand and/or sit for long durations of time
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
High school diploma or GED equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area preferred;
2 – 3 years of prior experience in the management in a wholesale/retail environment;
A valid driver’s license is a requirement of this position (MVR Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date) and satisfactory MVR must be maintained;
Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test;
