Position Summary:
Arthur Center is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Transporter to join our Behavioral Health Clinic team. In this role, you will play a direct part in making sure our patients get where they need to go safely and on time. Whether transporting individuals to medical appointments or coordinating with our team in time-sensitive situations, you will be a trusted part of the care experience. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Patient Transportation & Safety
- Transport patients to medical appointments or emergency departments as instructed.
- Ensure patient safety during transport by confirming proper seat belt use and appropriate child safety seat placement based on patient age.
- Maintain first aid and safety equipment in the transport vehicle at all times.
- Keep the transport vehicle clean and disinfected as needed.
Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections
- Conduct pre-trip safety inspections of the transport vehicle according to procedures outlined in the vehicle check-out binder.
- Assist the property manager with transporting vehicles for preventative maintenance and repair.
General Duties
- Maintain a positive, professional working relationship with patients, clinical staff, and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
- Safe, reliable driver with a clean driving record.
- Trained or willing to be trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor.
- Team player who contributes to a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Ability to provide CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention skills when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Class E or greater Missouri Driver's License required.
- Demonstrated driving experience required; medical transportation experience preferred.
