American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 26-week travel assignment in a remote Alaska location providing both outpatient and inpatient PT care across all age ranges and diagnoses.

Full-time outpatient and inpatient physical therapy setting
-
Hospital-based setting includes hi-lo table, whirlpool, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation modalities
-
Village-based visits may also be required, where therapists bring their own equipment such as therabands and exercise programs
-
Patient population spans all age ranges and diagnoses within Alaska's PT scope of practice

Monday through Friday day shift schedule

26-week contract

Minimum 3 years of PT experience required; hospital-based experience strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program required
-
Active Alaska PT license required, or FSBPT paperwork completed to practice post-graduation while pursuing licensure

Current BLS certification required

License required if applicable

Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those for whom English is not a first language

Proficiency with MS Office and ability to access online medical literature

DOB and SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, incorporating evidence-based medicine into individualized care plans

Orientation takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday upon arrival

Facility-provided housing is available in a remote area; shared units with private bedrooms in gender-specific housing — no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility

The facility will reimburse economy-class flights to and from the assignment; detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted through American Traveler for reimbursement

Flight itinerary must be provided at least one week before the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but not for return travel

Competency documentation must be provided upon arrival, including IV/Central Line care, fall precautions, age-specific competencies, abuse/neglect, pain management, restraints and seclusion, end of life, blood transfusions, and current BLS

A medication calculation math test (adult and pediatric) will be administered upon arrival before beginning work
