American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a fast-paced hospital position in Rapid City, SD, covering adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care.

260-280 bed acute care hospital with a daily census of 250-260
-
Respiratory Therapy unit covering Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care
-
RT coverage throughout the hospital and ED; floating within the facility may be required
-
Charting in Epic (required) and Omnicell
-
Ventilators include Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, and Hamilton C1
-
Additional equipment includes ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 High Flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
-
6/12-hour variable shifts, rotating or straight nights, 48 hrs/week

Every other weekend rotation required

Holiday coverage expected for holidays falling within the contract period

Associate of Arts (AA) degree required
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) may be considered based on experience

South Dakota RCP License required prior to consideration — allow approximately 30 days for processing (SDBMOE.gov); license required if applicable
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

NRP certification required if assigned to NICU patients
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required
-
Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration

DOB and SSN required for consideration

First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review with strong clinical experience
-
Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist available 24/7 for support, along with supervisors, manager, and director
-
Candidates should be prepared to care for NICU patients if the role requires it
-
Up to 7 days of time off (RTO) may be approved during the contract; taking a full week off may require a contract extension
-
Pewter scrubs required
