Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in a short-term acute care setting.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
  • Respiratory therapy unit serving both adult and pediatric ICU patients
  • Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on booking
  • No on-call requirement
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Charting via Epic
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible for this position

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
  • Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
  • Active state or compact RT license required at time of consideration; pending licensure is not accepted — license required if applicable
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
  • Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4–10 hours, completed before the assignment begins)
  • Holiday coverage is required; only 1 holiday off may be approved per assignment
  • Maximum of 4 days of RTO allowed per assignment; approval is at the manager's discretion
  • Night shift travelers may extend up to twice (3 contracts total), after which a 6-month break is required before returning
  • Former employees or travelers must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Scrub color requirement: solid black or black and white
  • Vaccine exemption requests should be submitted as early as possible, as travelers cannot begin an assignment with a pending exemption approval
