American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience for a day shift position at an acute care hospital.

Work in a Respiratory Therapy unit serving both NICU and adult patient populations
-
NICU unit has 36 beds with a typical census of 18–20 patients
-
Patient ratios vary depending on staffing
-
Specialized procedures include ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration; transport experience preferred
-
EMR: Cerner (experience required); Omnicell medication dispensing
-
Equipment includes Spacelabs monitors, PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators, and a 3100A oscillator
-
12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; night shift also available (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)

36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation

Voluntary call available

May float to any like unit or adult patient care areas

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU required; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered

RRT preferred; CRT with at least 2 years of experience will be considered

Required certifications: BLS and NRP; ACLS and APLS preferred
-
Proficiency in adult general and critical care respiratory therapy
-
NICU skills including ground transport and Nitric Oxide administration
-
Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
-
Must be able to work independently as the sole NICU RRT on shift
-
AL license required if applicable
-
One professional reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months required for consideration
-
DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration
-
Copy of certifications required for consideration

First-time travelers will be considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience
-
New travelers and those returning after 1+ year away will complete 24 hours of classroom orientation plus 24 hours of on-unit orientation; orientation for rehires is determined based on last date of service
-
Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
-
Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
-
Holiday coverage required for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per facility policy
-
RTO is subject to facility blackout dates around major holidays and events throughout the year
