Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a day shift position in a hospital respiratory care department in Oklahoma City, OK.

• Hospital-based respiratory care department serving pediatric patients
• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
• 26-week contract
• Previous experience in a children's-only hospital is preferred

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2 years in a critical care setting preferred
• RRT credential required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
• BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• License required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
• Serve as a resource to medical staff and provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations served by the department
• Participate as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Responsible for ensuring respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Workers who have previously completed an assignment at this facility may extend only once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning a new contract
• This facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; travelers must complete all onboarding requirements promptly to avoid cancellation
