Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of PICU and NICU experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a large hospital in Northern Virginia.

Details

  • PICU and NICU inpatient respiratory therapy setting at a large acute care hospital
  • Both PICU and NICU patient populations (pediatric ICU experience required, not general pediatrics)
  • Workload is RVU-based, with 580 minutes of work assigned out of a 720-minute shift; ICU assignments may carry a higher RVU allocation
  • Night shift: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active Virginia (VA) RT license required if applicable
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in both PICU and NICU settings required (general pediatrics experience does not qualify)
  • Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and PALS

Additional Information

  • Three-week orientation: week one is department orientation, week two involves shadowing and training to general care, and week three the traveler takes on their own independent assignment
  • No holiday or on-call requirements
  • Charcoal gray or pewter scrubs required
