American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of Adult Critical Care and NICU experience for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care teaching hospital.

Short-term acute care teaching hospital; Member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) with 338 staffed beds
-
Respiratory therapy unit covering both Adult Critical Care and NICU patient populations
-
Specialized equipment includes Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U ventilators
-
Charting performed in Cerner (experience preferred)
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
-
Every other weekend work required; holiday coverage expected
-
No on-call requirement
-
Float requirement between Adult and NICU units
-
Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible for a local pay rate
-
Active RRT credential and CRT certification required
-
MD state licensure required, if applicable
-
Current BLS certification required
-
ACLS certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU settings
-
At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required

ED experience preferred
-
Proficiency with airway management, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
-
Cerner EMR experience preferred
-
2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
-
Responsibilities include airway management and suctioning (ETT, trach, nasal/oral airways), extubation, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and ABG interpretation
-
Medication administration includes bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, racemic epinephrine, and related aerosol therapies via nebulizer, MDI, and aerosol setups
-
NICU responsibilities include assisting in high-risk deliveries and umbilical blood gas collection
-
Preferred skills include bronchoscopy, nitric oxide (iNO), inhaled Flolan, Mucomyst, Ketamine, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline
-
Scrubs are not provided; ceil blue scrub color required
-
Influenza vaccination is required for all staff at this facility
-
