Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a night shift Pulmonary Services position at a 558-bed acute care teaching facility in Atlantis, FL.

Details

  • Work in the Respiratory/Pulmonary Services department of a 558-bed acute care medical/surgical facility and healthcare complex
  • Facility specializes in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, and bariatrics
  • Nationally recognized teaching facility
  • Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Equipment used includes oxygen cylinders, nebulizers, suction machines, CPAP/BiPAP, V60, Servo-I, Servo-U, and high-flow oxygen devices
  • Charting/documentation via Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
  • Patient ratios vary
  • On-call requirements as needed
  • Unit staffed with 5–8 team members including a supervisor RRT and 4–8 RRTs per shift

Requirements

  • Active RRT credential and state license (license required if applicable)
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
  • At least one prior travel assignment completed
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs not accepted
  • Two professional references required (due to Florida-based position)
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
  • Stroke education and experience is preferred
  • An active, collaborative approach with physicians is preferred
  • Grey scrubs required
  • All certifications must remain active and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC certifications accepted
