American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in adult critical care and emergency settings for a night shift position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana.

Short-term acute care hospital with ICU, PCU, and med/surg units
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
-
Adult critical care cases including ARDS, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and other respiratory diagnoses
-
Procedures include intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care/management, BiPAP/CPAP, SIMV, HFNC, arterial punctures, ABG drawing and interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance)
-
Medication administration includes albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Mucomyst, Theophylline, inhaled steroids, and others

Hamilton equipment used for BiPAPs and ventilators

Charting via Cerner (required)

Every 3rd weekend required, approximately 4 weekend shifts per contract

On-call requirement of typically 1–2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required

Active RRT credential required

Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted)

NRP and PALS certifications preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience required; 5 years preferred

Cerner EMR experience required
-
Indiana state license or Compact license required; pending licenses are not accepted — license required if applicable

Graduate of a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings required
-
NICU, pediatrics, home care, and transport experience preferred

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved

Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
