American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care experience for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Maryland.

Short-term acute care teaching hospital, Member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) with 338 staffed beds
-
Adult critical care unit focused on respiratory and neuro diagnostics
-
Night shift: 18:30–07:00, scheduled as 3x12 or 4x12 shifts on weekends
-
Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
-
Specialized ventilator equipment includes Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U
-
Performs airway management including endotracheal tube management, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
-
Administers a wide range of inhaled medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Pulmicort, Xopenex, Racemic Epinephrine, and others
-
Manages respiratory support devices including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, trach collar, and nebulizers
-
Performs and interprets ABGs, including umbilical blood gases
-
Preferred skills include Bronchoscopy, Inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Mucomyst, and Theophylline administration

Holiday coverage is expected

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
-
CRT certification required
-
MD state licensure required (license required if applicable)

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in adult critical care

Minimum 1 prior travel assignment completed

BLS certification required
-
ACLS certification preferred
-
ED experience preferred
-
Proficiency with mechanical ventilation, weaning protocols, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms

Experience drawing and analyzing ABGs required

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Flu vaccine is required for all staff at this facility

Scrubs are not provided; ceil blue scrub color required

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
