Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a 204-bed acute care hospital in Loxahatchee, FL.

Details

  • Work in a Respiratory Therapy unit at a 204-bed acute care medical/surgical facility specializing in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and Women's Services
  • Unit has 12 beds with a staff of 5–8, including a director, lead RRT, permanent staff, and per diem support
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 to 2:1
  • Equipment used includes oxygen cylinders and concentrators, nebulizers, suction machines, and CPAP/BiPAP machines
  • EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
  • Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the start date)
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Meditech EMR experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)

Additional Information

  • Provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
  • Work as part of a close-knit, collaborative team with active physician relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Gray scrubs required for Respiratory Therapy staff
