American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, CVICU or open heart experience, and ACLS certification.

Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at an acute care hospital
-
Patient population includes post open heart surgery recovery, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR patients
-
Specialized procedures and equipment include ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery monitoring, and arterial line management
-
Patient ratios: 1:1 on nights, 2:1 on weekends

Night shift schedule: 18:45–07:15 (4x12-hour shifts)

Every other weekend required

Floating is required
-
EMR: Epic; Medication dispensing: Pyxis

Self-scheduling unit
-
Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of critical care (CC) experience required

CVICU or open heart experience required

Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ECMO, IABP, post cardiac surgery care (directly from OR), Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac drips, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and isolation precautions/PPE

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Preferred skills include: port access and management, titrating vasoactive drips, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ventilator management

Must pass an EKG test prior to start

Orientation consists of hospital orientation during week one, with required attendance for classes each day

Navy, white, or a combination of both scrubs required
