Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring 3+ years of perioperative/endoscopy experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based endoscopy unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Patients undergoing endoscopic procedures requiring moderate sedation, pre-op admission, and post-procedure recovery
  • Charting performed in Cerner
  • Floating is mandatory at the facility's discretion, including to locations up to 50 miles away and potentially outside primary area of competency — float notifications may be given as little as 2 hours before a shift
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 3 years of perioperative or endoscopy nursing experience required
  • Experience administering and recovering patients from moderate sedation required
  • Experience in both pre-op admission and recovery required
  • Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion required
  • COVID vaccination (initial series) required — no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Scrubs of any color are acceptable; scrubs are not provided by the facility
  • Cerner EMR experience is beneficial given charting system in use
  • RTO is capped at 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
  • RTO on weekends will not be approved
  • No RTO on holidays or on the day immediately before or after a holiday
  • Local candidates are preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility — a different pay rate applies to local candidates
  • No special scheduling requests or block scheduling will be accommodated
