American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level II Trauma, Magnet acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years' ICU experience with strong cardiac and critical care skills.

20-bed ICU unit at a 372-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
-
Night shift schedule (1800–0630), 3x12-hour shifts
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within scope is required, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
-
Cardiac monitoring skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition

Pre/post cardiac cath and intervention experience required
-
Chronic and acute renal failure experience required
-
IV therapy skills required: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV starts
-
Medication experience required: continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, cardiac drip titration, and vasoactive drip titration

CVA and acute stroke management experience required

Respiratory and thoracic skills required: BiPAP and CPAP management, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management

Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration — pending licensure is not accepted

Current AHA or Red Cross certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — RQI AHA cards are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with cardiac or CVICU background strongly preferred
-
SSN and date of birth required for consideration

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required

13-week contract with night shift hours

Royal blue scrubs required

Free parking with a permit obtained during orientation

RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodable; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
-
Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration

Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
