Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics night shift position at an academic medical center in Albany, NY, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Orthopedic Med/Surg unit (B3W) in a 600+ bed academic hospital setting
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Candidates with 1 year of experience at a 600+ bed academic hospital may be considered with a passing competency test score
• Epic EMR experience is required — candidates without Epic experience will not be considered
• All certifications (BLS, etc.) must be from AHA or RQI
• Active US Social Security Number required — Canadian SIN not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Candidates with less than 2 years of experience must pass a Med/Surg competency test (2 attempts allowed)
• Excessive call-outs (more than 3 in a 13-week period) may result in contract termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• No blocked scheduling
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this position
