American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool position in Hawaii, floating across medical and surgical units, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license required by start date.

Flex Pool RN role floating between the Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds, rare occasions)

Adult med/surg and step-down patient population
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical Unit 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights); Laulima Unit 1:6; Cardiovascular Unit 1:4 — ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

12-hour day shifts, 0645–1915
-
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation

Meditech EMR in use
-
Equipment includes Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
-
Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS

Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC

Experience with med/surg and/or step-down patient care

Familiarity with wound vac and chest tube management preferred

Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent assignment
-
All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours before their start date — this appointment is scheduled at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory

Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start in order to report to Employee Health on Friday morning

Documented proof of immunity is required — medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu

Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
