American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool position in Hawaii, floating across medical and surgical units on night shifts with 2+ years of required experience.

Hospital-based Flex Pool RN role floating between medical and surgical units
-
Primary float units include a Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights), Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4

Patient population includes adult medical and step-down surgical cases

Equipment includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes

Meditech EMR experience is relevant to this role

12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
-
Floating required across Medical, Laulima, and Cardiovascular units (Cardiovascular float is rare)

Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS

Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC

Provides float RN coverage across various medical and surgical units, adapting to the needs of each department

Unit-specific orientation is provided for each float unit
-
All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment; this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report Friday morning
