Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fully remote Telephone Triage Call Center position requiring a CA RN license and strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Details

• Fully remote position supporting a telephone triage call center
• Provides advanced clinical telephone triage support to patients, assisting them in obtaining the appropriate level of care with the right provider
• Supports physicians with message management and other communications within the EMR system
• Collaborates with clinic and hospital-based providers to renew electronic prescriptions, identify resources, and coordinate referrals
• Fast-paced environment with high patient and team interaction via phone and chat tools; some overnight shifts are quieter
• Evening shift: 5x8-hour shifts, 15:00–23:00; Day shift: 5x8-hour shifts, 12:00–20:30
• Uninterrupted availability for the full shift is required — no flexibility during scheduled working hours

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; UT or compact RN license also required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong telephone assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills required
• Proficiency in applying the nursing process: assessing, planning, diagnosing, teaching, and disposition
• High-speed internet and a private, dedicated home office space required
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Uses approved telephone nursing guidelines and protocols to assess patient needs, disposition cases, and ensure positive patient outcomes
• Facility provides all necessary equipment for this remote role
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have previously worked with this health system must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the contract
