American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Oncology & General Surgery night shift position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and an active KS or compact RN license.

Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit with a dual focus on oncology and general surgery within a Magnet-designated hospital
-
Unit also functions as a remote telemetry unit, caring for a diverse patient population

Patient ratio is 1:5

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

13-week contract

Charting via Meditech EMR
-
Nurses are equipped with iPhones for direct communication with the care team
-
Active RN license — KS or compact state license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
-
Oncology (ONC) certification required for all RNs working in this oncology unit

Chemo administration certification required to hang or handle chemotherapy
-
ACLS preferred
-
US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

One professional reference required

Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Night shift team consists of 1 charge nurse and 5 staff nurses when the unit is at full census
-
Strong charge nurse team provides active support for new and traveling staff

Chemotherapy may only be administered by chemo-certified nurses
-
Vital signs are performed every 8 hours; remote telemetry patients receive VS every 4 hours

Unit uses a primary nursing care model
