Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Infusion position at a Level I Trauma facility, with a strong preference for chemotherapy-certified nurses and Epic EMR experience.

Details

  • Outpatient Infusion unit at a Level I Trauma acute care hospital
  • Department operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM with 8-hour shifts (primarily 9:00–5:30); no on-call requirements
  • Administers infusions including chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products, iron, and IV fluids, as well as various injections
  • Department sees approximately 50 patients per day with 6–7 RNs on staff daily
  • 13-week contract
  • Epic EMR in use

Requirements

  • Active NE RN license or Compact (NLC) license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
  • Current BLS certification (AHA); pending certifications are not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Infusion therapy experience required
  • Chemotherapy certification strongly preferred
  • Driver's license required for consideration and used to verify permanent address

Additional Information

  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address
  • Candidates who are or have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • A pass/fail, open-book skills exam is administered during orientation (Friday of orientation week); a minimum score of 90% is required to continue the assignment
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination
  • Orientation is 12 hours
